3, 2, 1...BLAST OFF! Snack Bar!

Our Academy families got to enjoy a Blast Off Snack Bar on their way home today. We snacked on space rocks, mini planets, asteroids, and Saturn's rings. Then we washed it all down with some rocket fuel!  It was the perfect little recharge for our future astronauts.

Jet Pack Contest!

This week we are exploring the moon and space!  We challenged our families to make homemade jet packs.  We were so surprised by what all they came up with. Our families are so creative!  Congrats to Cade McLaughlin and his family for winning!  They get family passes to The Adventure Science Center. Thank you to all the families who participated.

Moon Painting

The week we begin our curriculum theme of "To the Moon and Beyond".  We will explore with moon sand, make homemade moon pies, and pretend to be astronauts in a moon bounce later in the week.  Today we kicked off the learning by making moon paintings...with craters!  The kids enjoyed getting messy with this fun art project using black paper and flour mixed with water.  Check out some kids from Preschool One and their moons!

Eating Pots of Gold!

To celebrate St. Patty's Day we made a special snack...pots of GOLD!  You can make them at home too!  It's so easy. Just top off some lemon jello with a spoonful of whipped cream, add your candy rainbow, and voila!...you have a delicious pot of gold. The kids loved their yummy holiday treat.

Walloping Weather

Haz-Matt, Mr. Bond's whacky sidekick, visited AoCS today to present "Walloping Weather"!  We learned about evaporation, wind, rainbows, tornadoes, lightening and more!  The coolest part was when we uses electricity to make mini lightening. Some volunteers got a surprise when the electricity went all the way thru them and lit up their shoes!  It was a super fun day at The Academy!

Up in the Sky Sensory Play

Ms. Robin and Ms. Kristen sure know how to keep our kids entertained.  With our theme of "Up in the Sky" this month they made a flying sensory bin!  It's so easy you can make one at home!  Just grab a bucket or even a box, fill it with cotton balls (clouds) and blue pieces of tissue paper (the sky), add your favorite toy airplanes...and you've got yourself a flynig sensory bin!  It's an easy and fun way to continue the learning at home.  Up, up and away!

Carter and Katy loved pretend flying!

Up, Up and Away!

March's curriculum is "Up in the Sky".  We are exploring subtopics such as weather, flying and space.  One thing we know that floats in the sky are balloons! Here are some of our kiddos trying not to float away.
