The Impact of Our Teachers

"To teach is to touch a life forever."

This quote was made especially true for us this week as Ms. Robin, Academy teacher since 1999, had two former students visit her.  The two girls met here at AoCS and have remained friends every since.  They were enjoying a spend the night party together over the Christmas holiday.  One thing they wanted to do was make Ms. Robin and special note and bring it to her.  The note said:

Hearts and Love to Mrs. Robbin
From: Gabrielle
We love you Mrs. Robbin and we will never forget you.  Hope you are doing well and grate.  Every day we think about you.  Have a Happy New Years!

Mushroom Madness!

Preschool Two found a mushroom on the playground and it ignited their curiosity!  We love exploring outside in nature.

Santa Show-and-Tell

Yesterday was our first day back from the Christmas holiday.  To make the transition back to school not so tough, we allowed the kids to bring their favorite Christmas present for a special show-and-tell, Santa style.  They loved showing off their best present and telling their friends and classmates all about it.  They were all very proud of what they brought.

Merry Christmas from AoCS!

Our teachers had a wonderful time at this year's Christmas party. Ms. Wilfrida hosted again at her house and our theme was Pancakes and PJ's.  Everyone got super cozy in their pajamas and we feasted on breakfast foods.  We played lots of games and enjoyed each others company.  We even found out about some hidden dancing talents of a few of our teachers.  We had a wonderful Christmas and we hope your family did too!

The fabulous and festive AoCS teaching staff.

We had lots of yummy breakfast foods including french toast casserole, grits, honey ham biscuits, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, and more!

Fresh fruit, muffins and a pancake bar.

The cereal boxes were a favorite to snack on late into the evening.

Each teacher received a cash bonus as their gift!

Who says money doesn't grow on trees?!

 Fruit and yogurt parfaits,  yum!

Oh, and a surprise visit by Ms. Sara dressed as Ralphie!  When there's a prize for the most festive PJ's the competition gets pretty serious!  :)

Toddler One Holiday Party

Toddler One celebrated the holiday season with a party to remember.  There was plenty of food for everyone!  Can you say "sugar high"?  And we had lots of moms and dads join us.  The toddlers had so much fun and want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Story Acting

Pre- K Two is full of a lots of characters.  This week we saw the Three Billy Goats and a mean ole' Troll!  They learned the story then acted it out using props.  The look of the kids faces watching the mini play is PRICELESS!

Annual Christmas Programs

Yesterday was one of our favorite days of the year.  Our Pre-K classes have been practicing for over a month now and the day finally came!  Everyone was so excited.  Both classes did such a wonderful job singing Christmas songs to their friends and families.  After each program, the families enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies in the kitchen.  It was such a fun way afternoon spreading holiday cheer.  Thanks to Ms. Sebrina, Ms. Maya, Ms. Robin and Ms. Austin for working so hard to put on a fantastic Christmas program!

Pre-K Two made special Rudolph shirts for their performance.

 Everyone looked so festive!

 Group shot time!

The stage was set, they were ready to sing!

Pre-K One getting their performance pep talk.

We had holiday gifts ready to hand out to the parents.  Pre-K One worked so hard on their gifts and they turned out beautifully!

Getting ready to hit the stage.

 They sang loud and proud.

They even busted out some of their dance moves.

Pre-K Two was working out their wiggles before hitting the stage.

All the parents were so proud of their children.

 Singing the Rudolph pokey.

The weather turned out perfectly for us to do it outside.  60 degrees in December?  We'll take it!

What a great group of friends.  :)
