Beekeeper Visit

This month is all about bugs and this week we've focused our learning on ants and bees.  What a better way to bring the curriculum to life than a visit from an actual beekeeper?!  Nancy from Johnson's Honey Farm came to teach our students all about bees and the process of making honey.  And boy, did she know a lot of stuff!  She even brought props with her so the children could see everything it takes to make honey.  She also brought flavored honey sticks for everyone to take home.  A BIG thank you to Johnson's Honey Farm for visiting us today!  Ask your child about what they learned today.

Ms.Nancy asked our students a lot of questions and we were proud of all their guesses and answers.

She was very enthusiastic to teach the students about bees and honey.

Did you know a bee will make less than a teaspoon of honey in their entire life?

That's why we need so many bees in the colony!

She showed the differences between a new hive and a hive that's used.

She explained the process of pollination by moving from one friend to another.

This is actual honey from her freezer!

She has lots of amazing pictures to show us.

Don't forget to pick up your honey stick on your way home.
