Ice Cube Excavations

This week is all about Water Works. We learned that when water gets super cold it turns to ice! So the kids at The Academy of Cool Springs got to have some ice cube excavations where they found treasures frozen in the ice.  We used our tools and warm water to melt the ice and find our treasures.

Harper happy to dig.

Boys hard at work excavating.

Adrhit is concentrating hard.

Toddlers working together.

KBC Cafeteria Days

Kindergarten Boot Camp is half way over and we have already learned so much!  Check out our Pre-K Two kids fixing themselves lunch.  Every Tuesday and Friday we head to the cafeteria and work on motor skills needing during lunch.  We now know to hold our plate with both hands and focus so we don't spill anything.  Next week we practice with milk cartons!  When we go to kindergarten we will be ready!

Water BLOB!

This week is all about Water Works. What better way to explore water than with a water BLOB!  This was such a fun sensory activity for our Academy kids. They loved taking their shoes off and feeling the water move beneath their feet.  We made our water blob for less than $10 by using plastic sheeting and duct tape.  Here's a link to Pinterest on all ways to make your very own water blob!  And check out the pics below of Preschool One and Preschool Two enjoying our homemade water blob!

Lifeguard Safety

Our very own PS2 teacher volunteered to talk about lifeguard safety. Ms. Kirstie is a certified lifeguard and works at the YMCA in Maryland Farms. She showed us all of her tools and what she uses them for. We talked about the rules that you need to follow when you are at the pool and to always be with an adult. Ms. Kirstie also showed them different techniques to use if there was an accident in the pool and to always yell "HELP" as loud as you can.
Ms. Kirstie also does swim lesson on the weekends if anyone is interested you can email her your information or stop by her classroom. kirstiesage@gmail.com

Ms. Kirstie showing everyone her cool stuff.

Showing everyone how to kick their feet in the water.

They couldn't wait to touch everything!

Showing everyone what she would use if she had to perform CPR.

School Bus Visits KBC Kids!

Our Pre-K Two kids were SO excited when a big yellow school bus came to visit us today for Kindergarten Boot Camp.  We learned all about bus safety for when we go to kindergarten.  We learned we have to sit still on the bus.  We also learned not to go behind the bus and stand 10 feet away so the driver is sure to see you.  Thank you to Williamson Country Schools for visiting us today and teaching us all about bus safety.

Katy, Larkin and Adi sit three to a seat.

Pre-K Two at bus practice!
