Shake It Like a Corn Shaker

This week, we are learning all about corn!  Today, our preschool one class used corn to make some homemade corn shakers.  They took an empty bottle, took turns filling it with dried corn and then shook the bottle to see what noises it made!  They used it to keep a beat with their favorite songs.

Giving Back

This year, The Academy of Cool Springs will be partnering with The Well Outreach Center in Spring Hill to collect food for those in need.

The Well Outreach offers four essential programs to support the Middle Tennessee community. The first program is the Food Pantry, which provides vital food assistance to individuals and families facing food insecurity. The second program, Student Jetpacks, focuses on supporting students in their educational journey by providing backpacks filled with essential nutritious, non-perishable food. The Mobile Food Pantry program brings food assistance directly to underserved communities. Lastly, the Family Coaching program provides guidance and support to families in need. The Well Outreach demonstrates a holistic approach to community support, addressing immediate needs related to food security and education while also offering long-term assistance and guidance for families in need.

Please help us in collecting food for those in need by dropping off any food items in the boxes in the toddler hallway.  We will be collecting until Friday, November 17th, and then will be dropping off all of our donations to The Well on November 18th just in time for Thanksgiving.

Tubes and Pumpkins

Tubes & Pumpkins - It's a Balancing Act!
This week the children explored many different pumpkins and gourds! They were given a variety of gourds to feel and describe. They examined colors, texture, and weight. After their examination, the children used cardboard tubes to balance the various pumpkins on top. They walked, ran, and stood still as they explored their own abilities to meet the challenge.
