Seuss Week!

It's one of our most FAVORITE times of the year...SEUSS WEEK!  This week we celebrate Read Across America Day (every March 2nd, Dr. Seuss' birthday) and promote early childhood literacy and family reading.  Here is a run down of this week's activities. 

Monday - Bring your favorite Seuss book to share!
Tuesday - We create Seussical art!
Wednesday - Moms and dads come to read Seuss books to us!
Thursday - Dress like a Seuss character!
Friday - Seuss movie mania!

Dentist Visit

Thank you to Brentwood Pediatric Dentistry who came as a special visitor for Dental Health Month.  They taught us all about oral hygiene including brushing and flossing.  They even gave each child a goody bag full of free supplies!  We know how important it is to keep our teeth healthy and clean.

Chopstick Art

Toddler Two used their chopsticks in a different way...to create art!!!  How cool is this?

Parachute Play

We are SO thankful for warmer weather.  Pre-K Two enjoyed some parachute play during this morning's gross motor time.  I think the smiles on their faces say it all!  Do you remember parachute day during gym class when you were little?  We sure do and we hope we are making the same kind of memories for these children.

Year of the Monkey

We celebrated the Chinese New Year today by eating with chopsticks.  We even had one Pre-K Two student that brought her own chopsticks and proudly said her family was Chinese and she couldn't wait to help her friends practice with their chopsticks.  Check out our Instagram page for pics of the chopstick adventures @theacademyofcoolsprings

Toddler Two also colored a monkey since it's the year of the monkey!  Ask them what sound a monkey makes for a good laugh.

Toddler Adventures

It's been a while since our last installment of Toddler Adventures!  We FINALLY got to go outside where we searched all over for shadows.  And we found some good ones.  Then we went in and played with friends using our cool sunglasses and dress-up props.

 We are SO THANKFUL for the nice weather that allows us to go outside and run, scream, and breath fresh air!
