A Gateway to Learning

Curiosity and exploration characterizes this stage of childhood development. While it may seem that our babies are simply playing with cups, they are actively engaged in developing their problem solving abilities. We equip each classroom with materials that allow the children to manipulate, tinker, and change the outcomes in various situations. Their own ideas take them down a path of discovery, and as teachers, we get to be along for the ride. We support them as they begin to gain their own understanding of how things work and love getting to nurture their inquisitive minds!

Straw Painting

 Our Pre-K One classroom used a straw to create masterpieces of art today.  Some used the straw like a paintbrush and others dipped the end in paint and then blew through the straw to create their art.

Snow Much Fun!

What do you do when you can't go outside in the snow?  You bring it inside!  We have had so much fun exploring snow with many different activities! We worked on coloring the snow, mixing colors in the snow, and making our own snow sensory bins!  Our toddlers also worked hard on creating their own penguin mosaic art! 

Water Xylophones

 This week has been all about music!  We worked hard to make our own colorful water xylophones.  We used different materials to make the xylophones and different types of mallets to see what we could hear. 

Sugar Cookie Making

Our Preschool One class has been busy working on their sugar cookie dough!  Everyone got to help mix up the dough.  Then, we baked them and worked hard on decorating our cookies!

We have been busy getting in the Christmas spirt here at The Academy of Cool Springs!  Each class made their own ornaments to help decorate our school tree!
