Ooey Gooey Week

This week was a messy one as our children fully embraced Ooey Gooey Week! This is such a fun, sensory packed, week each summer! Sometimes the greatest messes come with the greatest memories. While children explored new textures and scents, they also focused and remained highly in engaged in the activities planned for them. Saying yes to the mess increases their concentration and also gives them an opportunity to play collaboratively with other members of their class.

We are America!

This week we let all the stars and stripes fly!!! Red, White, and Blue EVERYTHING! We've had so much fun bringing in the 4th of July! We have crafted fireworks out of pretty much everything! We have danced with streamers and played keepy-uppy with patriotic paddles! We have made hand print flags, participated in a magic show, and made windsocks to take home. We finished this exciting week making graham cracker flags and red, white, and blue kabobs!

Fine Motor on the Farm - Barnyard Bash

This week was Barnyard Bash and we have had a blast! We've sheared sheep, stacked haybales, and cleaned muddy animals! We had a visit from baby goats, several fun sensory bins, and many adorable crafts! The engagement was high as we played pretend, built our fine motor muscles, and used real-life application to make barnyard week a huge success!

Excavation Experts

We've got dinosaurs galore around here this week! Our excavation experts worked so hard on discovering what was inside their dino egg. They used hammers, golf tees, tooth brushes, and their hands to dig out their dinosaur. The room was silent except for the sound of banging hammers for several minuets. The children discovered that other strategies aside from banging may be necessary. They began to try methods such as scraping and twisting. Their determination was unmatched. We loved hearing them encourage their table partners and collaborate on trail and error! As they uncovered their dinosaurs, they beamed with joy (which made the months of ground coffee collection all worth it 😉 )

Homemade Popsicles

Preschool One and Preschool Two have been busy helping Ms. Bre make our afternoon snack, delicious fruit popsicles! They worked hard squishing and mashing the fruit for Ms. Bre so she could turn the fruit into popsicles!  After they had time to freeze overnight came the best part...we got to eat them!  So yummy!
