We tried guacamole for the first time at AoCS for Spanish Invasion Week. Opinions were mixed as the kiddos tried out their "green dip". Some ate it up, others were a little more cautious. Check out Preschool One trying their new snack.

Spanish Invasion
We launched our Spanish Invasion week with letting the kids make their own quesadillas. They had so much fun assembling the meat and cheese on their tortilla. We learned about the Spanish culture and their food. We are also trying guacamole, mexican rice, tacquitos, flan and taco salad this week! Here's a yummy link to homemade guacamole recipes you can make with your kids.

Librarian Visits for KBC
Our Kindergarten Boot Campers got a special visit today from Ms. Courtney, a local elementary school librarian. Ms. Courtney told the kids all about what to expect from a real school library. She answered all their questions and also taught us about the anatomy of a book including pages, cover and spine! Then she read a Pete the Cat book. We all love Pete! Thank you Ms. Courtney for visiting us!

Sushi for Snack...Kid Style!
We continue "Exploring the Orient" week with making sushi for snack...kid style. We used rice krispy treats, fruit snacks, and fruit rolls ups to make fake sushi. The kids love making their own snacks! Check out the pics below.

Chopsticks Practice
We kicked off "Exploring the Orient" week at AoCS by trying to eat our lunch with chopsticks. We had sweet and sour meatballs, rice, and fruit! It was so fun learning about other cultures while working on our fine motor skills.
