BOO-Nanas!

For a fun and healthy holiday treat we made Boo-Nanas simply by adding two chocolate chips to a banana!  It was even good fine motor practice for the kids trying to put the small chips into the banana but they did a great job and loved eating the finished product!

Adventures with ACE

Ananya was out student of the week so she got to take home ACE for the weekend.  They had so much fun and even traveled to Atlanta together!  They also had a lot of spooky fun at a Halloween party.  See all the pics from their fun weekend below!

Pumpkin Stomping

This week we are learning all about legs, feet and toes.  What better way to combine this theme with the Halloween holiday then some pumpkin stomping?  We pulled out all the pumpkin guts and put on a plastic tablecloth.  Classes came one by one and each child got to walk on the cold, slimy mess in their bare feet!  Some loved the icky feel, some didn't like the idea of a mess on their feet.  But the expressions from everyone were priceless.  Check out the pics!

He did NOT want to try, ha!

Pumpkin Exploring

Pre-K One did a little pumpkin exploring.  It was a MESSY project.  They cut open the top and yanked out all the slimy and stringy pumpkin guts!  Then they cleaned the pumpkin seeds and roasted them in the oven to eat with their afternoon snack.  The results were mixed...some like the seeds, some not so much.  It was so fun to explore the pumpkin with all our five senses.

Healthy Candy Corn Snack

The Halloween holiday can be a time filled with sugar overload!  So we took a Halloween favorite and made it healthier.  We took inspiration from candy corn and made our own candy corn fruit cup.  We layered mandarin oranges and pineapples, then added a scoop of whipped cream with a candy corn topper.  The kids loved making their own snack and they loved eating it even more!

Hand Washing Class

Thank you to the Williamson County Health Department for coming out to teach us how to wash all those scary germs away.  We got to put on this super special lotion and then wash our hands.  Then we used a black light to see all the germs we missed.  It was such a fun way to learn how to keep our bodies as healthy as possible!  Below are instructions on proper hand washing.  With the flu season coming up, be sure to wash your hands as needed the proper way!

When should you wash your hands?
